Build your legacy with intention

I just finished attending an amazing two-day retreat with the purpose of growing my business, The Cheerful Word. My intention is to serve you and your families in preserving the personal legacies of each and every one of you. Why focus so much energy and intention on myself? I'm not done yet with my time on this earth! I don't want to waste any time wondering how far I could have gone and what wonderful experiences I could have had. No regrets.

With the time I'm given, I have many things on my growing bucket list. Among my most important personal work is to help you tell your life stories; to capture and share the impact you have on the world - so far - with your community of family and friends.

I hired a business coach and am working with a group of people committed to helping one another reach for their dreams. All of us have a passion burning in our souls. Some of us enjoy that passion as a career while others of us indulge in our passion during our free time. The Cheerful Word actually grew out of a lifelong love for asking people to tell stories about themselves. I have never met a boring person! And it rocks my world to spend my time talking with people of all ages (though those who know me know I have a tender place in my heart fo. I just love to hear all about you.

What's your legacy?

Follow my lead and start building your legacy today. Decide to do something you've been pining for; take a class, meet new folks, move, sign up for something that feels like an adventure to your soul! Don't worry about what anybody else thinks, this is your life to live and your legacy to build. They've got their own adventures calling to them.

Ball colorful stringWhile your going about your day to day life, begin to tune in to the little things that make you utterly special and unique. Imagine that the phone call to a friend that you just encouraged is a single, colorful thread. Another is the game that you just watched with your friends, another might be that scarf you knitted in a day that your co-worker thinks is gorgeous or the homework you just helped your child with! Those threads, woven together, become a beautiful, one-of-a-kind tapestry that is your personal legacy. All those little stories become something greater when reflected on with purpose.Weaving

However you want to do it, be intentional about the activities you engage in, they matter to a lot of people around you. Really, they do, just ask them. If you're not sure what your legacy is or what your stories are, ask your family and friends. Even coworkers have a pretty good idea of what jazzes you. Write them down, record them and preserve those big and little moments that we tend to discount. Those little moments add up to a life worthy of remembering.

If you need a little help getting started or know someone whose life stories simply HAVE to be recorded (that would include you silly), give me a call or send me an email from my Contact Me page. I'm repackaging all my offerings to you - I'll let you know when each one becomes available. I've got a whole slew of new options (thanks largely to the masterful minds of my business development team), including a hot do-it-yourself package called Cheerful Legacy Workbook, available to you in the next week or two. I do all the heavy lifting - and fast too! All you have to do is follow the simple directions, and in just days, you'll have a custom book in your hand containing the stories and photos of your life or the life stories of a loved one.

Here's to building our legacies together in 2012! There's never been a better time to shine.
