What’s happening in my brain when I write?

Your brain is busy 24-hours a day, 365 days a year on everything from maintaining your heart rate to your decisions on what’s for dinner to braking at a stop sign. So, how do you focus that constant activity into productive memoir writing? Here’s a little test for a little insight:

Think of cinnamon. Now take a pen or pencil (not your keyboard) and write free-flow for five minutes without stopping to think about what you’re writing or to edit.
